“Get Ready for a Cool Summer: Home Hacks to Beat the Heat!”

Posted on April 25, 2024April 25, 2024 by shaitalks

With temperatures rising, staying cool and comfortable indoors becomes a top priority for us Filipinos. But fear not! With a few simple home hacks, you can beat the summer heat and transform your living space into a refreshing oasis.

From light and breezy decor to energy-efficient appliances and DIY cooling solutions, there are plenty of tricks to keep your home cool and enjoyable all season long. In this article, we’ll explore some ingenious hacks to help you create a summer-ready haven that will make even the hottest days feel like a breeze. So, get ready to kick back, relax, and embrace the cool vibes of summer right in the comfort of your own home.

1.     Light and breezy décor

What we have at home can contribute to how we feel and to the temperature as well. To do away with the summer heat, it’s better to opt for light-colored curtains or sheer fabrics like that Pinterest inspired abode. Tropical-inspired décor can be a great help too! Incorporate rattan furniture, bamboo blinds, or potted plants to have that beachy vibe at the comfort of your home. Consider re-arranging your furniture to create airflow and open up space.

2.     Lightweight and breathable bedding

Summer time means the chance to swap out your heavy blankets and comforters for lightweight quilts or cotton sheets. These hacks can also keep us cool during hot nights. Moisture-wicking mattress pads or bamboo mattress covers can be used to prevent overheating while sleeping. Invest in a breathable pillow made from materials like shredded memory foam or natural latex.

3.     Hydration stations

Aside from the common coffee station, to set up hydration stations around the house with unfused water or natural fruit juices to stay hydrated and healthy throughout the day. You can also keep a pitcher of cold water in the fridge and add slices of lemon cucumber, or mint for a refreshing twist. Consider installing a water dispenser with a built-in filter for convenient access to clean water.  Fujidenzo Free Standing water dispenser is a good appliance to incorporate in your station. It comes with a child safety Lock for a worry-free day. Another one is Hanabishi Slow Juicer that’s best to produce natural fruit juices to keep you refreshed.

4.     Energy-efficient appliances

Summer is your sign to upgrade to energy-efficient appliances like air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators to reduce electricity consumption and lower utility bills. Appliances with smart features that allow you to control settings remotely or set timers to optimize energy usage are widely available in the market. Take advantage of natural ventilation by opening windows and using ceiling fans instead of relying solely on air-conditioning. For fans, I can suggest Asahi Electric Floor Tower Fan as one of the best brands for its durability and functionality. A beverage cooler can also be a great addition to your existing appliances. Keeping our drinks cool and fresh is a must!

 5.     DIY Cooling Hacks

Create your own DIY air-conditioner by placing a bowl of ice in front of a fan to circulate cool air throughout the room. Hang damp towels or sheets in doorways or windows to create a natural evaporative cooling effect. Use a spray bottle filled with water to mist yourself or lightly spritz your face and body for instant relief from the heat.

By incorporating these cool hacks and tips, you can enjoy a refreshing summer while keeping your home comfortable and energy-efficient.

What’s more, you can also get the mentioned appliances without breaking the bank, thanks to Home Credit’s Hottest Summer sa Pinas 0% Interest Promo from March 15 to May 31, 2024. You can take advantage of this promotion by visiting Shoppingmall.ph or any of Home Credit’s partner stores.
